Guinea Pig to Green Thumb Virtual Gardening Series

We want to thank our Members by offering our first FREE virtual series, Guinea Pig to Green Thumb Gardening. Sign up here by August 4th at midnight to participate.

We know many of you who support us with your Membership are unable to find time to come to one of our more intensive events at the Center. We decided to bring the Homestead to you!

When you register, you will receive our 5-part series in your inbox throughout August, 2014. Each part will include:

  • An instructional video demonstrating what we want you to know with our "Guinea Pig" Matt Heblon in his backyard
  • Handouts and links to more in depth information covered in the video
  • A question answer forum on our website for the week following each topic

Part 1: Building Soil, Beds, and a Rainwater System

Part 2: Planting Calendars, Spacing, Techniques, and Container Gardening

Part 3: Natural Pest and Weed Control - Every trick in the book

Part 4: Natural Fertilizer - Compost, Commercial Fertilizers, and Worm Bins

Part 5: Starting Seeds, Harvesting Veggies, and Cover Cropping

On the day your new lesson is sent out to all registered Members, we will open up a discussion forum on our website blog. If you have additional questions, you can post them for up to a week after each lesson and we will respond daily.

Finally, there is a simple homework assignment attached to each lesson that is designed to give you a productive garden in your back yard by the end of the series. Please share this event and ask any questions you have in the comments below!

We can't wait to see the gardens you create!

P.S. We are only accepting registrations through August 4th. The first lesson goes out August 5th. Again, it is FREE to all our Members. If you aren't a Member yet, this is a great week to join. Members also get 4 free events each year, access to our Member Resource Pages, and Discounts on all our events.
